The Beauregard Keyes Home in New Orleans
© The New Orleans Guide

Built in 1826, novelist Frances Parkinson Keys restored the Beauregard-Keyes House in 1944 and kept winter residence there.  She wrote several  novels at the house including Dinner at Antoine's.  The house is also reknown for the Confederate General (General Beauregard ) who ordered the first shot of the Civil War.  General Beauregard rented rooms at  Beauregard-Keyes House after the Civil War and there are several original Beauregard pieces on display.
